Encouraging youngsters to look at engineering as a vocational career will support the long term sustainability of the overall scheme. Graduates will be encouraged to consider the cluster as an attractive career prospect.
Mark Stead will work closely with businesses to ensure they understand the benefits of nurturing the workforce of the future at the same time helping to provide the next generation of advanced engineers.
Throughout the project the cluster will be able to interact with local establishments to demonstrate the sector as an option for a future career. Mark and his team will facilitate interactions between businesses and local education organisations, professional bodies, further education and higher education establishments.
Workshops, events, informal sessions and visits will be set up with work experience placements playing a vital role in developing the youth involvement for both school leavers and graduates.
